Association calls on industry to back Future Print

Joan Grace, PIAA general manager, industry and transformation, said the industry initiative has just secured its initial $4 million Federal government grant.

“Future Print will look at the apprenticeship system we use in this industry in terms of what people learn and how they learn. You only need to walk around the show to see the shifts in the industry and in skill needs.

“You can talk about processes but you really need to talk about skills. Trainees need to know about workflow, about substrates, about maintenance and safety, a broad range of skills.”

Grace called on printers visiting the show to be among the first to register at www.futureprint.org.au
