Aus Paper deal to push print in NSW and Qld

Australian Paper has finalised an agreement with Queensland printer Trade Envelopes in a move to expand operations in NSW and Qld, and redirect paper manufacturing back into Australia.

The deal will involve the purchase of overprinting equipment and stock from Trade Envelopes to provide additional operating capacity for Aus Paper’s envelope manufacturing arm.

According to Australian Paper sales director Gary Harris, the agreement will enable Aus Paper to drive paper printing in the region, pushing growth where it has previously declined.

“The agreement with Trade Envelopes will enable us to bring back to Australia 75 million envelopes per annum that are currently being manufactured overseas,” says Harris.

As an integrated operation, this is also an important opportunity to secure additional envelope paper volume for our Maryvale Mill which is one of the Latrobe Valley’s largest private employers.”

Mailing and fulfilment services at Trade Envelope’s Moorebank, NSW address are set to remain operational, as well as the addition of seven permanent employees and further machinery.

Once the purchase has been completed this month, customers will be able to place orders with Australian Paper.
