Aussie duo on top of digital world

Group Momentum took first place in the Environmental Impact category, with Picpress scooping first place in the Special Process category. In addition Group Momentum reached third place in the Direct Mail and Transpromo category, with another Australian printer Momento achieving second spot in the Photo Speciality sector.

Phillip Rennell, sales director with HP Indigo’s Australian distributor Currie Group says, “This is a tremendous result, and shows how Australian print is in the premier league of the global print industry. Australia has exacting print standards, which has been clearly shown in the HP Indigo global awards.”

Picpress won with its leather bound photobook ‘What was I thinking’ printed on an HP Indigo 5500 at its Melbourne facility. Group Momentum won with a job for pharmaceutical giant Merck, printed on a recyclable stock that was, in fact, impregnated with seeds, allowing the end user to put the paper in the ground and watch it sprout.

The awards were announced and presented at a glittering Gala dinner during Ipex.
