Australia Post breakfast series begins

The Up Close with Australia Post breakfast series, organised by Printing Industries’, has begun, with the Perth breakfast kicking off the series on Tuesday, with Adelaide following yesterday.

With Australia Post’s new incoming CEO, Christine Holgate set to take the reins, there is an opportunity for the embattled postal monopoly to have a fresh start with printers; these talks are indicative of that.

Andrew Macaulay, CEO, Printing Industries says, "I am thrilled that Printing Industries has been able to create this opportunity for direct engagement between our members and Australia Post, and that industry has come out and supported the initiative.

"Australia Post have openly shared their plans and some of the innovation soon to hit the market, and members have responded with robust and healthy discussion.

"We have appreciated printers being upfront about the business challenges they have experienced as a result of the continued price increases."

"Printing Industries commends Australia Post for stepping up and beginning to re-engage with the industry and we look forward to advancing this discussion with them further.”

Melbourne hosted the series this morning, while it will travel to Hobart on August 1, and Brisbane August 2.

Printing Industries’ says close to 80 members and interested industry players have attended the events so far. Australian Printer will be covering the Sydney event on Thursday August 3.
