Australian Graphic Supplies acquires Power Digital

The move pushes AGS into Mimaki distribution and the dye sublimation market.

AGS business development manager Chris Dutkowski told ProPrint that the move was “part of AGS’ expansion”.

“AGS is always looking for opportunities to increase its product portfolio and gain a greater market share,” he said.

Power Digital’s operations will be relocated from its existing base in the suburb of Underwood to AGS’s Queensland headquarters at Capalaba.

Dutkowski said “most” of Power Digital’s staff would have jobs at AGS, but confirmed that “some of the duplicated functions will not come across”.

Power Digital is a Queensland distributor for Mimaki’s range of printers, cutters and routers. The company also supplies a range of dye sublimation and heat transfer equipment and consumables, which are now available nationally through AGS.

Dutkowski said the signage-oriented Mimaki equipment would now fall under the AGS banner, while Power Digital’s more “promotional” offerings, such as dye sublimation, would remain under the Power Digital banner.

DGS Mimaki national sales manager Brad Creighton said the company was “very excited about AGS becoming an authorised reseller”.

Note: Australian Graphic Supplies is not related to Australian Graphic Servicing as previously reported.
