Australian Paper showcases security range at Security 2009

The range manufactured at Australian Paper’s Shoalhaven Paper mill includes:

  • Watermarks, which protects against counterfeiting and are available as shadow marks, electrotypes or a combination of both.
  • Chemical Sensitisation, which protects against forgery by reacting with agents used to tamper with a document.
  • Colour Inclusions, which protects against counterfeiting by including fibres and planchettes in the paper that can be visible, invisible (UV detectable), or a combination of both.

Kevin Davis, sales manager – converting papers for Australian Paper told Australian Printer That customer specific watermarks and machine readable invisible security inclusions provide safeguards against counterfeiting.

He adds that Australian Paper can also include as a defence against fraud, sensitising agents within the sheet which will flash if solvents are used in an attempt to alter details contained in documents.

He says, “Australian Paper’s security papers provide a readymade defence against people tampering with the integrity and invested security of the stock. Moreover, the mill provides closed loop chain of custody, which allows stock to be tracked from manufacture to delivery at the security printer.”

The company continues that all its Shoalhaven products are produced under AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 Environment System, AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System, FSC chain of custody certification, PEFC certification and the Department of Climate Change’s greenhouse friendly programme and can be supplied as 100 per cent carbon neutral.
