According to managing director John Gilmore, the most sought-after machine on the company’s stand is likely to be the Mini 105 TPHS, a high-productivity thermal laminator capable of producing lamination on one or both sides in one pass with a maximum speed of B1 landscape sheets per hour.

Gilmore said: “I think the big book guys will go mad for the 105. It’s the first time we have shown it and it’s only ever the third 105 we have built.”

Another process Gilmore expects to draw attention is its inkjet UV technology, which was initially planned to be launched at Ipex 2010.

The Mini 36 TPM-36 SUV, laminates and spot varnishes in-line in the same pass and in short runs. Meanwhile, Autobond will also debut the 52 SUV-SDF, an offline B2 portrait inkjet spot UV machine, featuring a Heidelberg-Stahl suction drum feeder.

Gilmore added: “I’ve got 22 tonnes of paper to go through the machines on our stand, so people will see a lot of machines running. Each machine will feature a video monitor, showing what it was doing the day before as well.

“I really couldn’t say what the most coveted machine will be, but I know there will be a lot of interest in spot varnishing.”

Tom Ralph, managing director for local supplier Graph-Pak, told ProPrint the company was looking forward to bringing all this new technology to Australia and had already received some orders for the spot UV models. He also said orders for other products looked likely.
