Avery opens Berrinba centre

Adhesive manufacturer Avery Dennison has opened its Berrinba distribution centre housing sales and warehouse functions serving as the key distribution hub for its label and graphic materials and reflectives.

The distrubiton centre will service customers on the east coast, only 30 minutes away from local airports, the CBD and major interstate roadways.

Chris Kilgour, commercial director for label and packaging materials, Avery Dennison Australia and New Zealand says, “The new Berrinba Distribution Centre represents Avery Dennison’s strategic commitment to our customers and suppliers. We have incorporated modern technologies and the best practices in this new hub facility to ensure fast and efficient response to customers, including next-day delivery to customers in Brisbane and Sydney.”

The Berrinba Distribution Centre runs on a standard 24-hour five day operation and features modern facilities for optimum workflow and storage. Previously operating at a smaller location in Acacia Ridge, this new distribution centre with 22 staff members is certified to 5 Green Star rating, which is the benchmark for sustainable design and energy efficiency.

This includes the use of LED lighting throughout the premise, with solar panels for energy efficiency and filtration system to remove contaminants in rain and storm waters before these flows into the sewers. This is the first 5 Green Star rated facility for Avery Dennison in the South Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan African region.
