Blue Star acquires The Mailing House

Blue Star Group will acquire Sydney-based business, The Mailing House (TMH) by the end of the month, in a bid to boost both companies customer base.

TMH is a 30 year-old communications business specialising in direct mail, data management services and email communications.

Matt Aitken, chief operating officer of parent company, IVE Group tells Australian Printer the takeover will provide TMH customers with the benefits of Blue Star Group's broader product and service offering.

Aitken says, “From our perspective it is a great company with a long history and a well-regarded reputation in the direct mailing industry.

“It has great staff and customers and we believe that the integration of TMH will create an even stronger business.”

TMH will be integrated into Blue Star’s Direct business at Homebush in the coming months.

General manager of Blue Star Direct, David Veness will continue to lead the business group and a majority of TMH’s 27 full time employees are expected to transition to Blue Star.

Veness says, “We have admired the TMH offer and their approach to market for many years and we know that in partnership, our combined offer will only benefit our customers.

“We welcome the TMH team into the business and look forward to working together to expand our offer to the market.”

Director of TMH, Lindsay May will stay with the business, and tells Australian Printer he could not turn down the deal from Blue Star, which he says will extend services to TMH’s current client base.

“We are selling because we need to grow the size of the business and increase capacity and the Group provides that so we can meet the needs of our customers with quick turnaround times,” May says.

“It has been a really nice fit to join the people at Blue Star, everyone is really positive about what both organisations can do for each other.”

Blue Star operates in six different markets, including Blue Star Print, Direct, Web, Display, Promote and Connect.

The takeover of TMH marks the Group’s fourth acquisition so far this year.
