Bottcher looks at UV

As UV printing becomes more common, especially in the newer offset presses, consumables supplier Bottcher will present a range of products at PrintEx to use with the low energy UV presses.

Specifically the company will showcase rollers, blankets and pressroom chemistry that have been designed to work with UV. The consumables need to be different to those used with standard offset presses as UV inks and coatings naturally have different characteristics, to enable the instant drying that printers are increasingly turning to in today’s on demand printing market. Press manufactures including Komori, Heidelberg, KBA and Ryobi all now manufacture UV presses, most using LED which are low energy systems, and they are gaining acceptance, here in Australia for instance six of the last eight Komori presses installed by been the H-UV version. Bottcher has been testing all its new UV compatible consumable solutions extensively at its Swiss headquarters and now has a comprehensive range of pressroom products to enable printers to achieve optimal performance from the UV presses.
