Brisbane printing industry identity Mike Byrne has passed away unexpectedly in his home with his funeral and wake to be held at Mt Cotton tomorrow, Wednesday January 15.

Byrne was a well-known and respected member of Australia’s printing industry having worked at a number of companies during his four-decade career including most recently Cornerstone Press, Inprint, Scanlon and Geon.

Lithographic Institute of Australia federal president Mel Ireland said Byrne passed away unexpectedly in his home in early January and had recently retired from Cornerstone Press.

“He was well respected by his peers and clients with commentary from his colleagues reinforcing his passion and consistency for his job,” Ireland said.

His funeral will be held at the Great Southern Memorial Park at Mt Cotton on Wednesday January 15 with a wake to be held afterwards at the Carbrook Golf Club.
