Business Award for Melbourne’s Complete Colour

The Business Development Award was presented to Tim Michaelides, managing director and Geoff Lawyer, general manager, at the Melbourne Business Awards Grand Finale Breakfast. The awards commenced in 1992 to provide a forum to recognise the achievements of small to medium sized enterprises in Melbourne’s south east, including the industrial areas of Moorabbin, Cheltenham, Highett, Clayton South, Mordialloc, Braeside, and Chelsea Heights.

Complete Colour Printing were given the award as a result of initiatives undertaken in 2006. Management gave some employees the opportunity to work a three day week (12 hours a day), recruited more young apprentice workers and the company became involved in many environmental initiatives.

Complete Colour Printing was established in 1992. During its first 14 years, Complete grew from a small traditional print company to an innovative, environmentally proactive leader of the industry. Complete now ensure that all the databases that they develop incorporate ’one entry does all’, together with, security, integrity and accuracy in all applications of use.

In 2005, Complete extended their printing operations to 24 hours and in 2006, the company became chain-of-custody certified through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This means they are now able to provide a service which is identifiable as supporting the growth of responsible forest management worldwide.

Complete has been utilising a rigorous waste management programme for the past five years and are now looking to improve their level of environmental responsibility further. Their aim is to minimise their impact on the environment and to offer clients the opportunity to express their own environmental concern through their unique print.

The Melbourne Business Awards hold bi-monthly breakfasts attracting between 300-400 people small to medium businesses and corporate leaders. Each Breakfast features a high profile keynote speaker from the business, political or sporting sectors. These speakers provide dynamic and motivational presentations covering the specialist knowledge from their respective areas of expertise.
