Canon celebrates two SGIA awards

Canon Australia is celebrating winning of two SGIA 2016 Product of the Year Awards during the 2016 Special Graphic Imaging (SGIA) Expo held in Las Vegas.

Canon scored an award in two categories with two different models: the SGIA Product of the Year for UV Flatbed + White $100-200k for the Océ Arizona 1280 GT and the same award in the UV Flatbed + White $200-500k category awarded to the Océ Arizona 2280 XT.

Adrian Morris, manager of display graphics for Canon Australia says the company managed a clean sweep in white equipped UV flatbed printers.

“We are proud to be a double winner for flatbed products,” he says. “Our equipment was compared to the best in the world and we came out on top.”

It was a tight competition this year, with organisers reporting 2016 was one of the toughest judging processes in recent history.

SGIA’s digital specialist, Ray Weiss says, “We are thrilled with the participation from exhibiting companies, and we even doubled the product category to correctly acknowledge all of the possible technical accomplishments in this competition. It was an extremely competitive field.”
