Canon into superfast print with Memjet

This compares with the 30 or so Canon’s imagePrograf will print in the same time, and is four times faster than the new version of the Océ ColorWave, and no other wide format printer comes close to the Velocity’s speed. It incorporates the same six media roll capacity of the Océ ColorWave 600/650 and combines five Memjet inkjet print heads, to operate simultaneously, applying more than three billion drops of ink per second with a width path of 106cm, giving it 1200metres of media capacity and print resolution of 1600 x 800dpi.

Canon had the third largest stand at drupa, with Oce now a part of the imaging giant, which aims to be one of the world’s Top 100 companies by the time the next drupa comes around.

For the Canon imagePress C7010VPS and C7010VP series, a high capacity stacker has been co-developed to extend their finishing. The stacker works alongside an open, standard finishing device interface that offers unlimited stacking capacity via an unload-while-printing functionality that facilitates continuous production, reduces foot print and the need for further investment, according to Canon. There is also the option of re-using the original box the paper was delivered in.

New additions to the Océ ColorStream 3000 range are the entry-level Océ ColorStream 3200 and high-speed Océ ColorStream 3900, which join the Océ ColorStream 3700. Developed for transactional print providers, the new Océ digital full-colour inkjet printing systems offer a range of speeds and ink and colour management.

The new Océ JetStream 4300, the latest system from the continuous feed inkjet portfolio, prints at 200mpm for producing books, magazines, newspaper and transactional print at short and medium lengths.

Also new, the Océ ColorWave 650 Poster Printer, a specialised version of the Océ ColorWave 650 and aimed at the point-of-sale market, can print on a variety of paper sizes and at speeds of 155 A0 sheets per hour. The prints are instantly dry, water resistant, cut to size and ready to be mounted

Canon’s stand has eight zones: Photo Print Services, showing its image capture to output capability; Sign and Display – with all of Canon and Océ large format solutions; Commercial Print, cross-media showcase that allows visitors to design their own campaigns; Industrial Commercial Print shows mass customisation in transactional and promotional print and industrial scale production of books, manual and newspapers; In-House Print, integrating office environments with central production facilities; Business Development, shows Canon’s Essential Business Builder Programme; Services and Support, Canon’s Professional Print Services portfolio; and Canon Enterprise Services, designed to help customers shape and realise their business vision and improve customer loyalty
