Canon Australia has released a new digital colour press, the imagePress C10000VP and C8000VP series, which support a wide range of media types and weights from 70gsm to 350gsm.
Canon says this new digital colour press meets the demand for a solution with outstanding output quality and colour consistency. The new series R-VCSEL laser scanner unit creates more precise images up to 2400 x 2400dpi.

The new series has dual fixing technology to maintain high productivity, even on long runs jobs, Canon says the imagePress delivers high-quality output with a robust print speed of up to 100 images-per-minute (ipm) for the imagePress C10000VP and 80ipm for the imagePress C8000VP.
For heavy duty environments, the imagePress C10000VP can support a monthly duty cycle of up to 1.8 million prints. Additionally Canon says it offers easily replaceable operator maintenance parts and an extended lifetime of key parts, helping to increase uptime and reduce the number of service calls needed.
Some of features the C10000VP has includes the combination of the new CV toner and advanced Intermediate Transfer Belt, allowing for a smooth image transfer and enables the imagePress to deliver colour-rich prints on a variety of media. The real time automatic calibration multi density adjustment technology and in-line spectroscopic sensor automatically corrects for disparities in gradation and provides more accurate feedback to the engine for consistent colour reproduction.
The imagePress C10000VP Series can run media of up to 350gsm, with what Canon says is outstanding output quality, even on textured or specialty stock. The new air knife enables the engine to run thinly coated media as light as 70gsm suited for applications such as direct mail.
The series offers users a selection of digital front end options, including Prismasync and imagePress Server powered by EFI Fiery. The latest versions of the platforms allow the system to integrate seamlessly into any type of workflow or environment.

Canon’s Prismasync controller streamlines production by making document and transaction print operations more intuitive. Operators can conveniently manage and run jobs of multiple presses easily from one location with the unique Job Scheduler and Remote Manager features.
Prismasync incorporates an in-RIP G7 calibration method which allows clients to achieve near neutral print condition more easily. Also, Oce DPlink easily allows for seamless integration into Xerox FreeFlow MakeReady environments.
The Canon imagePress C10000VP Digital Presses are already available and ready for demonstration at its Macquarie Park, Sydney Showroom.
Anjana Maikap, product marketing manager, Canon Australia says, “We already installed a number of machines nationally and have prospective customers in the pipeline.
“We will be inviting prospective customers for face to face demonstrations in our Mac Park Sydney Showroom and will have the machine on display at PacPrint in Melbourne.”
