Card deal looks promising for printers

A new initiative from advertising card producer Avant Card could see two Aussie printers, SOS Print and Blue Star, cashing in on rising volumes and sales. Avant Card, which boasts a distribution network of more than 1500 cafes, universities and bars, has agreed to distribute the Z-Card – a foldable map, brochure or pamphlet that packs away between two cards about the size of business cards.

The deal means Avant Card and Z-Cards will cooperate on major projects and promote each other to their clients. Pat Mackle, managing director of Avant Card, says the groups are hoping for higher sales thanks to the cross-promotion. The two groups proved to be a good match, says Mackle, in a joint venture producing advertising collateral for Vodafone last year – hence the longer term collaboration. If successful, SOS (which prints Avant Card) and Blue Star (Z-Card’s printer) could be in for some higher volumes.
