Centrum buys second KBA at drupa

NSW printer Centrum Printing has bought its second wide format KBA145 press at this year’s drupa, set to complement its existing KBA162a Rapida.

Centrum general manager Sandra Mascaro sealed the deal in Dusseldorf, Germany at the press giant’s drupa stand.

The purchase makes the KBA145 the company’s second KBA wide format press to be housed at its Chipping Norton premises. Centrum has owned the KBA Rapida 162a since its 2014 debut into the packaging and point-of-sale markets.

“It will sit alongside our current large format KBA162a and assist in servicing our clients further,” says Mascaro.

“We are proud to continue our ongoing support partnership with KBA. This new and latest technology will provide a great opportunity for the Australian printing and packaging industry.”

The press is slated for installation at Centrum in December this year and will be used for the company’s display and packaging jobs.

"This new press will make us very competitive for all display and packaging work as we are able to deliver innovative products,” adds Mascaro.

“Our chief executive, Percy Vij has a vision to support and grow manufacturing in Australia and this press will allow us to compete with international suppliers and provide opportunity and growth for future generations in Australian manufacturing.”
