During PacPrint Currie Group displayed the HP Indigo 7900 digital press with Horizon bookletmaker, which Phillip Rennell, sales and marketing director, says is a world first integration link between press and finisher.

The company continued the theme with a robot providing a link between its B2 HP Indigo 12000 and a Horizon SmartStacker, pointing the way to what many believe will be a part of print in the future.

The company also showed the HP Indigo 8000 label press with the ABG Digicon Series 3 finishing solution. Rennell says, “There is automation for customers from machines to finishing devices. This is an opportunity to streamline devices with less touch points.” It was bought by Peacock Bros.

At the stand, Currie Group wanted to show its visitors what you can do with the press rather than what presses it was showing.

Rennell says, “We are showing real world opportunities for marketing and packaging such as Christmas cards.

“We are also showing fluoro colours, pink, green and orange and showing customers what they can do with that. We are also showing glow in the dark so we are more than just printing, it is the printers who are driving the applications.”

Rennell also highlighted HP’s new laser imaging system, HDLA which has been shown at trade shows but will be available in Australia soon.
