Digital print giant Yamagata enters Australia

The company has a new production facility located running HP Indigo presses, although it is yet to reveal the location, which is either Sydney or Melbourne, or the identity of the local manager.

Yamagata operates in virtually every developed country on the planet, including the US, Japan, most of Europe, and China, which it entered in November last year. Its customer base is drawn from the corporate sector.

Yasmagata spokesman Will Curtis says, “The Australian region is a key global market that has seen substantial sustained growth in the last decades. Yamagata's presence allows Australian customers to have direct access to our products and services. More importantly, our goal is ensure Australian customers continue to benefit from our services through increased efficiency as a result of reduced turnaround times, expenses related to obsolescence, warehousing and shipping.

Curtis says, "By opening the new facility in Australia we hope to continue to provide innovative cost-competitive print and document management products and services to our Australian customers."

Yamagata’s business is based on the distribute and print model, with its XLdoc marketing web portal enabling its clients to log in from anywhere in the world to quickly create custom brochures, data sheets and other marketing collateral. Once the piece is created, they can order printed marketing materials in the exact quantities required. Materials are printed locally in Japan, Malaysia, Europe, the United States, China and now Australia.

Shiro Fujimoto, Yamagata America president says, "XLdoc is a dynamic marketing tool that makes it easy to create, update and localise marketing materials. The new print facilities let our clients print these materials locally in more places, saving them time and money."

The Australian production facility will also produce print for New Zealand.
