Digital print managers flown to USA to show off W2P know-how

The company, which is Snap Printing’s largest franchise owner, was invited to present at the XMPie User Conference, which is focused on systems from the Fuji Xerox division.

Dan Ries (pictured left), the managing director of the CBD Print Group’s software partner, Green Lips Media, hosted a forum yesterday (26 October) highlighting the print company’s success with XMPie’s uStore web-to-print module.

According to the event’s website, Ries has helped CBD Print Group become “one of the largest uStore users in Asia Pacific and possibly the world”.

Ries developed a workflow system using XMPie, which can cope with hundreds of orders a day, accessed by thousands of users across various uStore customer portals.

CBD Print Group sales and marketing director John Budgen said the company’s success with XMPie has helped it secure a number of print contracts with Australia’s major banks.

“We have really pushed XMPie and uStore,” he said.

“We have been dealing primarily with XMPie in Israel and the States and some of things we are doing is being considered as good as anything in the world.”

Ries, who is joined in Miami by CBD Print Group’s general manager, Judd Duhigg (pictured right), said Green Lips Media had used uStore to develop an ordering system for the Bank of Melbourne.

“The primary objective with Bank of Melbourne was to deliver a web-to-print portal that could get the collateral out to the banks as quickly as possible in a manner that was seamless and effortless on their part,” he said.

“We achieved personalised collateral on the Bank of Melbourne site by using XMPie solution, primarily uStore but the back-end is integrated with the Adobe creative suite, so we can provide highly personalised, customised templates that wouldn’t normally be available in other online solutions,” he said.

The XMPie User Groups Conference wraps up today after running for three days at Hyatt Regency in Miami.
