EFI displays new technology

Electronics for Imaging showcased its latest solutions at PacPrint, including for the first time in Australia the Vutek LX3 and Vutek FabriVU 340.

Frank Mallozzi, senior VP worldwide sales and marketing, EFI who flew in for the duration of the event says, “EFI has been investing in Australia with $5m worth of products at PacPrint.”

Products EFI was showcasing include the EFI pro16h wide format, Vutek H5125pro- high end high speed, Vutek FabriVU 340 and the Vutek LX3 which was at the Spicers stand.

Also at the EFI stand was the Fiery NX Station LS which EFI says is cutting-edge, ergonomic, and creates an efficient work environment. It says it reduces footprint by over 20 per cent, “The Fiery Command WorkStation software offers a new user interface designed to provide a single interface that manages digital print devices across a business.”

EFI is not far off selling its two millionth Fiery, the product with which former Scitex boss Efi Arazi started the EFI business.

Kenneth Hanulec, VP marketing at EFI says, “EFI was also showing the new Pro16h, a wide format printer at 1.6m, 1200dpi LED and dual channels of white standards.”

Other features include speeds of 90 square meters per hour, access to more substrates than solvent and latex and Fiery driven – integrated into printer.

Also on the EFI stand was the Vutek 3r and 5r which was unveiled a couple of months ago. EFI was also highlighting its range of workflow options including, sheet collector, automatic blockout, inline finishing, sheet auto backlit, vacuum plate, jumbo roll handling, white ink, ID backprint and seven colours.

EFI also highlighted the demands for soft signage and the key growth drivers as a few their presses can be used for this solution. The key growth drivers for print providers include an upscale look, greater margins, light weight meaning lower shipping costs and it is easier to install. For print buyers, it means an upscale look with brands getting noticed, easy to fold and recyclable.
