Epson wins innovation awards

Epson has won two Buyers Laboratory awards for its low-cost digital colour printer and its Replaceable Ink Pack System technology.

The wide format manufacturer’s WorkForce Pro WF-R8590 won the Summer 2015 Pick award and RIPS earned an Outstanding Achievement in Innovation award.

Epson Australia general manager Craig Heckenberg says the company is honoured to be given the awards.

“To be recognised by such a prestigious industry influencer underscores its commitment to providing customers with low cost yet innovative tools to increase productivity,” he says.

Epson says its series of WorkForce Pro RIPS can solve many issues by using super-high-yield ink supply units to print up to 75,000 pages between ink changes, resulting in efficiency, less wasted time and resources, and predictable print costs.

The awards are selected by BLI editors, who twice a year look at various machines’ performances to determine the winner.

David Sweetnam, BLI’s director of research and lab services in Europe, says: “The super-high ink yields offered by the Epson RIPS are a game-changer, drastically reducing consumable replacement frequencies, and negating the need for on-site storage of extra supplies, which take up valuable space.”

The WF-R8590 is supplied by Kayell in Australia.
