Europoles MD Peter Wagener in Leukaemia Foundation 12-hour walk

Europoles Managing Director, Peter Wagener, is in training for a 12-hour walk from Perth to Mandurah in Western Australia to raise much-needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

His decision to enter the walk on Saturday June 5 and raise money comes after he was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in February 2020.

Peter says he was diagnosed after his annual general health check found an elevated white blood cell count. He is also using the walk as a way to remind everyone to have their annual health check.

“It’s a long walk, but it’s important to get the message out there,” Peter said.

“Most people wouldn’t even know they had leukaemia until it’s too late. Early intervention is the key.”

If anyone would like to help Peter with his fundraising efforts, please follow this link.

The walk starts from Elizabeth Quay at 3am and is likely to finish at 3pm or 4pm that afternoon in Mandurah, south of Perth.

Peter is aiming to raise $100,000 to support the Leukaemia Foundation’s research into finding a cure for the condition.
