InkMonitor
Connect is the latest addition to the HighWater InkMonitor family of ink key
setting solutions. InkMonitor Connect is a universal press interface which
provides ink key presetting information for almost all modern press consoles.
This innovative solution accurately sets ink keys directly from the ripped job
data reducing press make ready time, paper waste and the amount of ink used,
enhancing productivity and increasing efficiency.

InkMonitor Connect
is comprised of three main components which work in conjunction to accurately
drive the ink keys. Step 1: InkMonitor Pro takes ripped data and formats
it into the CIP3 or PPD files for the InkPreset system. Step 2:
The Ink Preset system interrupts the data from InkMonitor Pro and
calculates the setting required for each ink key. InkMonitor Connect takes the
data from the Ink Preset system and transferred it directly to the press
console. Step 3: With the Ink Monitor Connect Optim service
the actual ink settings from a sampling of jobs is used to optimise future key
settings. HIghwater says this optimisation step is what is the missing link in
other CIP3/CIP4 solutions.

According to
Highwater the ability to create transfer curves for ink fountain presets for
different paper types results in exceptional flexibility.
