Fespa gears up for May show

The world’s biggest wide format show Fespa opens its doors in two months, just a few days after PrintEx, with manufacturers positioning themselves for their new launches.

With more than 700 exhibitors booked into 62,500sqm of the Colgne exhibition halls and at least 25,000 visitors expected Fespa has become a significant event, with many Australians set to make the big trek.

Among the new products wide format manufacturer swissQprint will launch two new flatbed printers at the show with a 25 per cent bigger print area. The company is represented in Australia by Pozitive.

The company says the 2 x 2.5 metre print area of the Oryx 2 and Impala 2 UV flatbed printers provide more format choices for users and deliver considerably higher output than the previous generation.

Oryx and Impala are the last two swissQprint machines to be updated to the brand’s second generation that also includes the bigger Nyala 2 with its 3.2 x 2 metre print area.

SwissQprint will also launch new workflow software at Fespa for its droptix 3D printing effect.

“This workflow makes it a breeze to produce the fascinating 3D effects that blew away visitors at Fespa 2014,” the company says.

“Thus, swissQprint also helps practitioners to work as efficiently as possible throughout the process chain, not just at the actual printing stage.”

The new printers are available to order now and will be demonstrated on the Fespa show floor on May 18-22 in Cologne, Germany.
