Three guest speakers are lined up for the event, which will be held at the Box Hill Golf Club on February 9, from 6pm.

David Payne from Basell will talk on the subject of PP in Blown Film. Payne has a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree and has held technical and commercial positions in Basell, Montell, Shell Chemicals and Dulux paints. He is currently working for Basell as a technical sales account manager, selling polypropylene resins to extrusion customers in Australia and New Zealand.

Paul Evely, also from Basell, will talk on developments in flexible packaging: PB1 seal peel technology. Evely graduated from Monash University in materials engineering and chemistry and has held a variety of technical and commercial positions in Basell, Montell and Shell Plastics.

He has worked with many plastic processors and flexible packaging companies throughout Asia and Australasia, and currently holds the role of sales development manager for Polybutene1 (PB1) speciality products in Asia.

Kevin Diviny from Niche Creation Network will talk about Kuraray’s forthcoming release of a new flexible barrier film developed using nanotechnology to provide the barrier.

Diviny graduated from Melbourne University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Polymer Chemistry), and has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies. He has worked for Union Carbide, Nylex, Wrightcel, Ferro Corporation Marubeni and is now a partner in Niche Creation Network Pty Ltd. This company, amongst other things, markets specialised polymers, films and sheets manufactured by Kuraray Ltd.
