Flint buys digital press developer Xeikon

The Flint Group has acquired Xeikon, a leading digital printer manufacturer to the packaging and commercial printing markets, and which has many customers in Australia. Flint will create a new division within its €2.1bn business to be called Flint Group Digital Printing Solutions. It will be led by current Xeikon chief executive Wim Maes, as president. He says, “”This next chapter in our more than 20-year existence opens many opportunities for Xeikon as a company, as well as for our customers, employees, partners and stakeholders.” Grish Rewal, managing director of Xeikon’s Austrailan distributor Absolue Electronics says, “I am proud to announce that Xeikon has been acquired by the Flint Group. “We understand that operationally it will remain the same.” The deal represents a new strategy for Flint, which is best known for its huge range of consumables for all types of printing. Flint Group chief executive Antoine Fady says, “Xeikon has shown that dedication to the digital label, folding carton, commercial and document printing market segments has paid off in terms of market share, customer satisfaction and financial contribution.
