Forum to address PIAA, PCA merger

Those in the industry who want more information on the impending merger between the Packaging Council of Australia (PCA) and Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA) will have the opportunity to during a forum next week.

On December 6, both PIAA CEO Andrew Macaulay and PCA CEO David Carter will hold an industry forum to offer insights into the next steps towards a merged association.

Members of the PCA voted overwhelmingly in favour of a plan to join the PIAA during an Extraordinary General Meeting held on November 9.

The forum will be held from 6pm to 8pm at Victoria University Convention Centre’s City Flinders Campus in Melbourne.

Industry members are being encouraged to voice any questions about the plans of the merged association going into 2017.

Carter says, “This will be a great opportunity to learn what the PCA and the PIAA are working on to provide members and their companies greater opportunity and value in terms of what is needed in the world our industry operates in.

“We strongly encourage you to come hear and participate in what plans we have for the future and how we are looking to provide you with a broader set of industry services and greater value proposition.

He continues, “Also it will provide an opportunity to meet industry colleagues over drinks and canapes.”

The event will cost $50 for attendees. If you are interested in attending, RSVP to david@pca.org.au.
