Fuji Xerox cutting staff

Major staff cuts are underway at Fuji Xerox Australia with the company saying it is responding to changed market conditions.

The industry is awash with rumours of numbers of staff released, Fuji Xerox itself is not giving numbers, but some industry insiders say they are in triple figures.

Well known identities such as sales manager Sue Trelfo and business development manager Jen Baile are thought to have gone.

New managing director Sunil Gupta is thought to be trying to refocus the business on its core activities, and is dealing with the aftermath of the departure of his predecessor Neil Whittaker.

Fuji Xerox Australia is the leading supplier of digital print solutions. It has more recently expanded into new areas such as wide format and 3D systems.

Fuji Xerox issued the following statement this morning:  Fuji Xerox Australia continues to respond to the changing market conditions and serve our customers. We have realigned our operation to support our customers in the most diligent and efficient manner.

Current and former Fuji Xerox staff remain tight-lipped on the matter. Australian Printer managed to make contact with former NSW general manager Greg Mills.

Mills says, “I handed in my resignation four months ago to start my own business. I am unable to comment on whether there has been job cuts at Fuji Xerox.”

Fuji Xerox Australia made headlines earlier this year when controversial Australia boss Whittaker abruptly departed the company barely a year after he was appointed, along with his top salesman Dean Murray. They went following an unannounced audit by regional HQ in Singapore.

Whittaker was replaced by company veteran Sunil Gupta in June.

  1. This is not new news. They have been cutting staff about a year ago.
Credit team and mainly technicians. A lot of the staff have been retrench after years of loyalty with them. They have been screwing their customers for years now. Setting up print hubs and competing against them is not a good sign to be a business partner with Fuji Xerox. I know a few of our competitors have moved on to a different supplier. Honestly, if you do your market research, they are not competitive at all. However they are good at approving any machine lease to you. Read the fine prints!
