Fuji Xerox launches new Versant

Fuji Xerox Australia is releasing a new entry-level SRA3 colour printer to deliver professional print through the technology of its larger production models. The Versant 80 Press is designed to deliver print using the same technologies in the Versant 2100, firing out various print applications, with a footprint around half the size. It is aimed at printers and copyshops who do not need the volumes of the Versant 2100. Users will be able to choose from three digital front ends and feature support for the Fuji Xerox Free Flow Print Server, an integrated EFI Fiery and an external EFI Fiery print server.

The machine rolls out 80 A4 pages per minute with uncoated or coated stock via a compact belt roll fuser, while allows printing on a variety of items such as envelopes. With a C3-DS large capacity paper tray, it can handle paper thickness from 52 to 350gsm. Fuji Xerox says its Simple Image Quality Adjustment Feeder, improved from its C75 Press, makes for reduced operator input while ensuring quality. The system allows quality adjustment by scanning the printed chart through the document feeder. Together with improved front to back registration for the 80 Press, the feeder aims to maximise the machine’s up time and availability. The company has also used the Versant 2100’s image processing technologies to rival offset quality even in the entry-level 80 Press, with 2400 x 2400dpi resolution print. To bridge the professional print and office markets, the machine can copy, scan and print, with finishing options such as booklet making, stapling, hole punching and folding, and 660 x 330mm banner printing.
