Fuji Xerox pushes digital to govt

Fuji Xerox Australia is set to open a new office in Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle in a bid to market its digital strategy to the Australian Federal government.

The multi-million dollar operation, according to Fuji Xerox, is to strengthen the company’s presence both in the ACT and to ‘build its capability’ to enhance the Aus government’s digital service strategy.

Managing director of Fuji Xerox Australia Neil Whittaker says the company wants to be ‘in the heart’ of all government affiliated work and customers. Its office was previously located in Canberra’s Fyshwick for over 20 years.

The move comes after the managed print providers has expanded on its business with the launch a new IT services and enterprise software division in September last year.

The Australian arm of Fuji Xerox deals with customers such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Attorney General Department and Australian Government Solicitors, all of whom, according to Fuji Xerox, share its ‘passion’ to implement a more digitised government.

Whittaker says it is the company’s goal for the Australian Federal Government to go completely digital by 2017, describing it as ‘ambitious’ but ‘achievable’.

“At Fuji Xerox Australia we are dedicated to helping all levels of Government recognise this goal through our expertise in sustainable document management, managed print services and digital government capabilities,” says Whitaker.
