Fuji Xerox replaces departed Neil Whittaker

Fuji Xerox Australia has appointed its new managing director following the departure of former boss Neil Whittaker with the appointment of Sunil Gupta, who will transfer from his role as president of Fuji Xerox Malaysia.

Gupta is slated to fill the empty position next month, stepping into the shoes of Whittaker who abruptly left the business last month only one year into his tenure.

Whittaker’s departure came shortly after an audit on Australia and New Zealand operations by Singapore headquarters. General manager for production print Dean Murray, who was pegged as the company’s top salesman, was also shown the door last month.

According to Fuji Xerox, Gupta successfully transformed Malaysian operations in his four year stint as president, and joins the Australian arm to lead it through a ‘digital transformation journey’.

“We must now look forward and redefine who we are both internally and externally,” says Gupta.

“I am impressed by the talent throughout the organisation and am focused on getting back to basics and create a company that is easy for our valued customers to do business with, foster a winning and engaged culture internally, and continue to carve out market share across all industries by delivering greater value.”

Gupta will take the reins from acting MD Masashi Honda, president of Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific, who quickly assumed the role after Whittaker’s exit.
