Future is energy smart

Printers can get ideas on ways to manage and decrease business energy costs from Ernst & Young experts who will speak in an upcoming PIAA webinar.

The webinar next Wednesday will discuss why managing energy is important and how to manage it better, the fundamentals of energy, building a business case for investing in energy management, and the energy efficiency technologies in the print sector.

Charlie Knaggs is the EY senior manager on the climate change and energy team with 10 years experience helping companies to design and implement energy management systems, identify and invest in energy efficiency measures, and access government funding for energy upgrades.

Knaggs, who has a Master of Environmental Management and Bachelor of Economics degree, says there are many reasons why print companies need to focus their attention on energy.

He says, “Productivity has become the catch-cry in efforts to reinvigorate the Australian economy.

“Enhanced energy management offers some of the best opportunities to improve our productivity, by producing more with less energy.

“The potential cost savings and environmental benefits are significant for almost every business.”

Madeleine Hoskins, the senior consultant on EY’s climate change and energy team and certified energy efficiency specialist, will be co-presenting the webinar.

Hoskins holds a bachelor of chemical engineering and has three years of experience identifying, specifying and costing energy efficiency upgrades in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

The 30-minute webinar on Wednesday July 15 at 1pm (AEST) will be followed by a short Q&A session. Click here to register.
