Geon takes next step in consolidation plan

Graham Morgan, CEO of Geon says, “Being able to integrate our capacity in one site makes a lot of business sense and has been achieved by the efforts of both our Dee Why and Banksmeadow employees.”

Geon will maintain all of its existing Dee Why-based sales and customer service staff in Sydney’s north shore region.

The company adds that a key factor in enabling the move into one production site is Geon’s ability to transfer all bindery and despatch roles from Dee Why to Banksmeadow, together with over fifteen pressroom roles.

However, due to the recent efficiencies being gained in the Banksmeadow and Dee Why pressrooms, a minimal number of print production roles will not be transferred.

Morgan says, “Our focus is on delivering great customer service, more capacity under a single-roof offering, streamlined processes, output consistency and reduced operational costs leveraging from best in class print technologies,” Graham said.

The Banksmeadow facility has recently returned to 24 hour, six-day shift patterns in the pressroom; that will integrate over twenty 20 roles from Dee Why to create one of the largest Bindery functions in the Sydney region with over eighty 80 employees.

It is anticipated that all production capability will be transferred into the Banksmeadow site by September this year.
