Getting money out of the mailroom

In a forum with three different papers on the subject and in personal discussions with customers, Muller Martini’s experts illustrated practical options for optimal use of the mailroom highlighting improved added value, improved processing reliability with increased net output and lower operating costs as requirements for increased profitability in the mailroom.

New and creative solutions were made available to users with the integration of stitching and trimming processes in the mailroom. Using available newspaper production equipment in this way, it is also possible to handle semi-commercial products in a single process and to increase added value.

Advertising messages on labels can be applied efficiently onto newspapers with the Swiss manufacturer’s easy-to-use labeling system which can be quickly connected to an existing pick-up or infeed station and is therefore also cost-effective when used for single orders.

Muller Martini also presented its PowerWrap film-wrapping unit for the secure and protective downstream conveying of products. With PowerWrap, a wide variety of products can be placed on top of or underneath the main section before film wrapping.

Thanks to the Mailroom Production Control (MPC) system, all part processes from product pickup to loading dock can be successfully integrated. Ifra visitors were also impressed by the workflow illustration, as well as the high level of production flexibility that the MPC has to offer.

“Total Customer Support”, meanwhile, is a new concept in customer care presented for the first time, offering the newspaper printer effective possibilities for increasing production reliability and efficiency, as well as optimising maintenance costs and sustainability of value.
