Gidue enters Aussie narrow web market through Barom Nominees

Trzaskowski says the opportunity to take on the contract fell into his lap, and recognising the potential, ardently embraced it.

“I was approached by an Italian flexo press manufacturer with a proposition to represent them in this market. I was not planning to attempt anything of the sort, so I told them I would consider it and reply in a week’s time. I made inquiries about the Company and the product, and the more I learned about them and their machines the more I liked the idea,” he says.

“The company is solid and reliable, the people that bought their machines were happy with the results, so much so that some have begun replacing other presses that I had always considered to be the ’top of the range’ with the Gidue Combat presses. A printer I know personally had bought one Combat and 18 months later bought another two and offered me a press he bought in year 2000 – the Combat being so much more efficient.”

Trzaskowski says the press can successfully run both short run jobs – typically eight or nine job changes in an eight hour day, and long run jobs. The machine can run at 150m per minute without any loss of a quality of print and without “fiddling” with adjustments.

It can print on 20 micron unsupported film right through to 350 GSM board. Trzaskowski says the machine is of a solid construction and yet remains a ’printer friendly’ press, taking less than 30 seconds to change the printing cylinder and less than 30 seconds to change the anilox roll.

On top of offering sales of the machine, Trzaskowski is also ensuring that full technical support and after sale support is available, and that there is a full set of spare parts on the shelf for every machine sold.
