Goss introduces new technology at drupa

Moreover, Italian printer Mazzucchelli held a news conference at the show announcing plans to follow the installation of the world’s first 96-page web press in early 2009 with the installation of a second, identical Sunday 5000 press.

A statement released by Goss says close to 500 drupa visitors per day attended demonstrations of the M-600 Folia press, a new web offset alternative to sheetfed perfectors.

The press printed on coated stocks without a dryer at 30,000 sheets per hour, utilizing new sheeter technology developed in partnership with VITS.

Bob Brown CEO of Goss International says, “The performance of our new M-600 Folia press was clearly an impressive highlight of the show, and the interest among sheetfed and web printers throughout the world was very encouraging.”

The statement continues that crowds were also large at the Ferag booth where Goss finishing technology was demonstrated as part of the new Pacesetter/ Ferag saddlestitching solution for the European market.

It concludes, “The first Goss press installations using automatic transfer and autoplate technology and supporting workflow systems to achieve non-stop production with on-the-fly, four-color job changes were highlighted.”
