Graph-Pak launches new A3 D&K laminator

Laminating systems developer D&K has launched its latest innovation, the Neptune – a B3 laminator, which is now available in Australia from Graph-Pak Tom Ralph, managing director of Graph-Pak says the new Neptune is based on the ever popular Europa B2 Laminator, which is now approaching 300 installations globally.

Ralph says, “The growth of the digital print market leads us to believe that now is the right time to launch a B3 model. The run lengths that printers are willing to produce on digital presses is increasing, and we are being asked more frequently for a fully automated SRA3/B3 model where the speeds that can be achieved by hand feeding just are not viable.” The D&K Neptune benefits from a compact footprint of less than 2m x 1m, so is little more than hand-fed models, and weighs in at around 350kg. It has a deep pile feeder and will run stock weights of 115gsm to 350gsm at speeds of up to 15metres a minute meaning that it will laminate 2,000 SRA3 sheets per hour. It also has an easy to operate touch screen control panel. Ralph says, “Although there appear to be positive signs for the economy, price is still an important factor and so the B3 Neptune will compare favourably with the semi-automatic models currently on the market but have significantly greater productivity. I’m sure that the specification, robust build quality and modest price tag will result in a great deal of interest in the Neptune. Installation is quick and easy with Graph-Pak engineers giving full operator training once the machine is installed and Ralph says they are always available to give help and advice when needed.
