GSB Chemical inks web deal at drupa

The agreement will see GSB manufacturing inks at its Wacol site in Brisbane. It is expected that full production to be achieved by October.

Micro Inks is the largest ink manufacturer in India and the 14th largest in the world. According to a statement, Micro Inks is the only ink company to have a fully integrated seamless ink production facility. The company produces pigment, flushes, resins, varnishes, wax additives and a full range of printing inks.

Micro inks has made a huge push into the United States in the last three years with that market now representing 38 per cent of the company’s sales.

Established only in 1991, Micro Inks now exports to more than 50 countries worldwide. Phenomenal growth in sales has seen the company progress from a US $1m company to a$100m in just three years 3 years.

Australia as one of the key markets Micro Inks has been targeting this year and this has now resulted in its first joint venture with another company.

GSB Chemical has itself undergone major growth in the last five years and the company is already a major supplier in the heatset and coldset markets.

The company’s expertise in pressroom chemicals complements Micro Ink perfectly and the arrival of a new player in the Australian Ink market augers well for web offset printers.
