The six-month process begins next month. Should the project be deemed viable, it will be followed by an 18-month environmental impact study. Should the proposal pass this study, the mill is expected to be constructed over the ensuing two year period, opening sometime in 2009. Gunns says the mill could potentially create 300 direct jobs and 1000 indirect jobs, as well as 3000 construction jobs.
