Hamada launches new 66cm press

In fact, that’s the only configuration, according to Hamada’s Australian agent, Graffica’s Neil Southerington. The press features ink control, CIP3 connectivity and remote register control, but does not include automatic blanket wash-up and other features that Southerington considers superfluous to many printers’ requirements in this market. It is capable of 16,000iph.

It will be available in Australia immediately after drupa.

Hamada also showed the almost-new B452 Mark II, and the EV-Master, an envelope machine with a makeready of just 11 minutes. It offers real offset quality at the high end of the envelope market, said Southerington.

Of particular interest on the Hamada stand was a new UV and spot coater using flexo techniques for a rich thick coat of varnish. The varnish itself acts as a glue so that gluing is unnecessary, and once the piece is pulled apart, it is no longer sticky. This will have special appeal to direct marketers, said Southerington.
