VS Hariharan, vice president, graphics arts business, HP Asia Pacific & Japan says, “At drupa 2008, we exceeded our high expectations and out-performed our sales targets for the Asia Pacific and Japan region.”

Hariharan also says, “As a worldwide solutions supplier in high-volume digital colour printing, we have been most heartened by the industry’s positive reception of our solutions at drupa 2008.”

HP recorded the most valuable single purchase contract in Indigo history during drupa 2008 with a deal for the installation of as many as 36 HP Indigo presses signed by North American firm Consolidated Graphics.

The company claims its Indigo press installation will enable Consolidated Graphics to meet rapidly growing demand for photobooks and digitally printed direct marketing materials.

Sales opportunities also emerged from customers from Europe and South America, reflecting digital’s expanding presence across the globe, a significant trend for the overall growth of the HP graphic arts organisation.
