HP fulfils 300 Indigo drupa orders

Digital supplier HP has finalised fulfillment of its order pipeline of Indigo presses made at drupa 2016, after installing 300 machines around the world.

HP says the 300 Indigo presses are now in full production across a number of well-known print locations across the globe, including Cimpress, Shutterfly, Pureprint, Precision Printing and Pageworks which all now operate the flagship HP Indigo 12000 press.

The drupa installations – which have been ongoing since the tradeshow’s completion in June – have finalised in time for peak holiday season demand, a busy period for the print industry.

Of the 300 Indigo presses, 100 were from the series 4 Indigo range, including the HP Indigo 10000, 12000, 20000 and 30000 digital printers. The other 200 installations were from the series 3 and 4 portfolios.

HP’s mammoth sales at the German tradeshow comes after the supplier booked the biggest stand at drupa 2016, taking up the whole 6,200sqm of Hall 17.

Notable Indigo installations in Australia include South Australian book printer Griffin Press’ introduction of the high speed inkjet web HP T410, along with Indigo 10000 and HP Indigo 7800 printers for its end-to-end digital book production line.

HP Indigo presses are supplied to the local market by Currie Group.

HP today also introduced four new PageWide WebPresses to the Australian industry, powered with High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) and aimed at the magazine, catalogue and book printing market.

HP says the new models, titled T390 HD, T390M HD, T380 HD and T370 HD represent the expansion of HDNA technology throughout the HP PageWide Web Press portfolio.

“Print service providers continue to search for technology that gives them a competitive edge in a crowded market, seeking the ability to deliver end customers high-value offerings while also increasing profitability,” says Steve Donegal, regional manager for Pagewide web press solutions.

“Today’s announcements demonstrate HP’s commitment to innovation that leads to immediate impact to our customers’ businesses.”

HP also recently celebrated a milestone for its PageWide series, surpassing 180 billion pages printed since 2009 on PageWide presses worldwide.
