HP Indigo label press base grows 44 per cent

HP says continuing advancements in digital technology from HP and approved partners including SMAG, Michelman, media partners and strategic partners, AB Graphic and EskoArtwork have equipped HP Indigo press users with a total print solution, providing assured quality and optimum productivity.

The increase in HP Indigo press installations for label, flexible packaging and shrink sleeve production is also mirrored by significant growth in print volume with a 95 per cent increase in the compound annual growth rate for HP Indigo ws4XXX series presses in the last three years.

"The end-to-end offerings from HP and its partners make digital label production both cost-effective and highly efficient," says Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo Division, HP.

"We have more than 500 HP Indigo presses for the label market installed worldwide and by the end of this year more than 20 percent of our total install base will be for our most recent press, the HP Indigo press ws4500, launched just a year ago.

"The number of customers installing multiple presses is testament to the market trend toward shorter-runs, variable-data, security and on-demand printing."

HP says the versatility and robustness of the HP Indigo press ws4XXX series enables users to print on a wide range of substrates for label, shrink sleeve and flexible packaging production. The presses are also adept in 'mission-critical' environments where speed and accuracy – often incorporating barcodes and other security features – is essential.

In Australia, Pemara Corporation operates two HP Indigo press ws4050s producing a wide range of products for the pharmaceutical, automotive and food and beverage markets.
