HP names GMG as gold partner

Paul Willems, chief executive officer of GMG, says, “We are excited about the expansion of our long-lasting relationship with HP in the field of high-end proofing with printers of the HP Z-series, which was the first result of our close technological cooperation.

“The GMG ColorServer/SmartProfiler colour management solution creates additional value to our customers, putting service providers in a position to offer print products with an identical colour appearance, regardless of which printing process, press and substrate used.”

Garry Muratore, area sales manager Oceania and South East Asia for GMG says, “GMG in Australia and New Zealand is extremely proud of our relationship with an industry leader such as HP. Recently we assisted HP at a regional customer event in Shanghai which saw customers from around the region take part.

“Our goal was to assist HP with enterprise-wide colour management across a range of digital devices. Next month we look further to strengthening the relationship further by presenting at the dscoop seminars in Seoul Korea and providing color management technologies for HP Indigo devices at the Korean tradeshow KIPES.”

Through its GMG ColorServer and GMG SmartProfiler, GMG offers end to end colour management for the HP Scitex large-format printers and HP Indigo digital presses. GMG says this improves colour accuracy and consistency in daily production and adds that GMG and HP customers can achieve, in an automated process, a visual match with offset printing, as HP’s digital or large-format devices can produce an ISO Coated V2 appearance.

According to GMG, the wizard driven GMG SmartProfiler and a corresponding measuring device enable users to create individual profiles for the different substrates used for wide-format applications and GMG SmartProfiler can help achieve regular calibration of a wide range of large-format printers. GMG says that the GMG ColorServer automatically converts any kind of colours, including spot colours, to the colour spaces of the various output devices.
