Huge launch party for new Fuji Xerox printer

Fuji Xerox officially launched its new Versant 2100 digital production printer at one of the biggest launch parties the industry has seen for a while.

Some 200 guests showed up to Fairground Follies, a hall in industrial St Peters filled with carnival rides, carousels, antique cars and nickelodeons, to be entertained by acrobats, dancers, cover bands, arcade racing games, and comedian Peter Rowsthorn of Kath and Kim fame.

The company invited 10 early buyers from every state onto the stage, including first buyer Snap Rowville which plans to use it to switch 40 per cent of its offset production to digital.

The early birds given appreciation awards by Fuji Xerox were Minuteman Press Fairfield, Budget Mailing Services, Snap Rowville, Snap Dandenong, Kwik Kopy Penrith, Vivid Print, Cessnock Print Place, Indie Print, Dinkums The Copy Centre, and Same Day Printing.

The 2100 is Fuji Xerox’s assault on the crowded mid-range digital production market and is the latest in a raft of recent product launches by big digital manufacturers.
