Hybrid expands to Australia

Hybrid Software is coming to Australia as part of a global expansion, bringing its Cloudflow and Packz software, which it says are already generating buzz amongst printers. Michael O’Sullivan heads the Australian team as sales director after his appointment in December. He says Australia was the next logical expansion after recent launches in Europe and South America. He says, “[Hybrid] wanted to explore Australia and New Zealand because there has been a number of contacts and expressions of interest from this part of the world. “The last two weeks have been successful with talking to clients. It’s as if the Australian market has been waiting for Hybrid to come along.

“It’s a young, very responsive company and this is the sort of attitude Australian markets really want, this is what we can deliver.” Cloudflow, which is supported on Windows and Mac OSX, interacts with external systems such as MIS/ERP and custom designed web pages, and can submit files to workflows via HTTP. Packz is a professional PDF editor for packaging and label workflows and can be fully integrated within the Cloudflow environment. Piet Cottenie, Hybrid Software’s associate director of international sales, says, “Cloudflow is a web-based workflow solution designed to link multiple locations via a highly efficient interface, so this is even more attractive when sites are separated by long distances.” O’Sullivan will be based near Sydney but says the company is looking to open offices in Melbourne and will employ an extra three staff initially. He adds, “But I see that growing quite fast if the South American experience is anything to go by; after a few months they were up to seven or eight staff. With the potential take up in Australia, I don’t see why we would be any different.” The company is currently seeking technical engineers and solution architects to join the Australian team. Hybrid is currently expanding its range and will announce new products in the near future.
