Publish Asia, the association’s main event for the region, was scheduled to take place in Bangkok later this month, but will now be merged with the IFRA Expo India which was originally to be held in Hyderabad. The combined event will be held from September 23 to 25 at the Chennai Trade and Convention Centre.
“With the economic crisis in the background, we believe that combining the resources and bringing out one world-class event will benefit our stakeholders, the newspapers and the suppliers active in Asia, Middle East and the Indian subcontinent,” said IFRA deputy CEO Thomas Jacob.
“Under the present circumstances, such a move makes perfect sense,” said Peter Kirwan, vice-president of Asia-Pacific sales for Goss Graphics.
The 8th IFRA Asia Media Awards Gala Dinner will also be held in Chennai on September 24.
