Industry raises $27,000 for cancer research

The printing industry has raised $27,419.72 for breast cancer research at a yacht club dinner and auction with competitors banding together for a good cause. BJ Ball, Courtney Colour, Currie Group, HP, immij, KW Doggett, Spicers, UPM, Women in Print Australia and the PIAA sponsored the event at Melbourne’s Sandringham Yacht Club.

The money was raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation from table sales and multiple auctions with about 230 people turning up. The fundraiser’s target was $20,000 which it easily surpassed. AFL footballer David King, radio host Brigitte Duclos and cancer survivor Lisa Kidd presented the evening’s schedule, with Kidd telling her story and promoting awareness of the disease which affects many Australian women.
