Ive co Kalido buys Task2

Blue Star is set to gain more work from its sister company Kalido’s acquisition of communications agency Task2, as the group expands its non-print reach.

The Rosebery-based agency creates advertising, branding, and multi-channel marketing campaigns for clients including Renault, Ancestry.com, and Weight Watchers.

Warwick Hay, managing director of Kalido and Blue Star parent company Ive, says Task2 will enhance Kalido’s creative, digital, and marketing services capabilities and add talent to the company.

All Task2 staff will relocate to Kalido’s Sydney CBD office with directors Nicola Tiernan, Leanne Pyne and Michael Cleary assuming senior roles within the business.

Kalido chief executive Joel Norton praises Task2 for its work creative work on multi-channel campaigns – an increasing focus of the group as it positions itself as a full-service marketing communications company.

“We are really excited about this acquisition, and the benefits it brings for all the customers across the group,” he says.

Task2 director Nicola Tiernan says the acquisition is a mutually beneficial opportunity for both companies.

“It provides Ive with a well-established multi-channel creative agency to help deepen existing customer relationships,” she says.

“It gives our staff the stability of a larger parent company, access to a print and production powerhouse in the Blue Star Group, an expanded client base for solid growth as well as career opportunities.”
